6th May – Second Day in Slovakia
We spent the day sightseeing around Banská Bystrica. First, we were shown the town’s sports facilities, including athletics tracks, a swimming pool, and areas for high jump training, among others.
Next, we continued our tour in the old town, where we saw several houses with unique and charming architectural features. Two of the most remarkable landmarks were the Clock Tower and the Town Castle, which includes a church.
We were then guided to an open-air exhibition showcasing authentic military equipment used during World War II, such as tanks and a plane that was used to transport supplies. After visiting a replica of a bunker, we saw the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal flame, both located at the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising.
Finally, we enjoyed a delicious picnic and played some games.
