Jack The Magic Teacher was in or high school today. With his magic tricks he presented an entertaining and interactive show with the participation of 1st and 2nd ESO students. Rings, cards, coins, balls and other gadgets appeared and disappeared thanks to his magic wand and his skills, of course !. All students enjoyed an hour show in English.

We all have a favourite storybook from our childhood. Some bedtime stories will be stuck in our memories for years. Most children get excited when it’s reading time, grabbing their teddy bear, jumping into bed and listening to or reading stories that take them to the world of dreams, fantasy, adventures, heroes, and monsters. Stories filled with illustrations that widen their imagination.

This was the objective of storytelling in 2 ESO, to take students back to the time when they enjoyed stories and give them the opportunity to become writers, actors and stage designers for one day. The students of 2SC and 2SD shared stories of their own in English. Most stories were totally original. Students created the plot, made up the characters and the setting and represented them in class. It was a rewarding experience for everyone. We had great fun and a good laugh. Congratulations!

Dilluns dia 13 de març els nostres alumnes de 2n de Batxillerat B i C van escoltar una xerrada a càrrec de Paul Fletcher (Oxford University Press) sobre els símbols més importants dels Estats Units, des de McDonals fins Lady Liberty. Va ser una xerrada molt profitosa on varen poder conèixer una mica més alguns aspectes de la història dels Estats Units a través dels seus símbols més representatius. Everyone enjoyed the talk !

Un grup d'alumnes de 3r i 4t d'eso de l'INS Pius Font i Quer està d'intercanvi amb el Collège Jasmin-les-Iles a la localitat francesa d'Agen. L'estada ha començat avui dilluns 13 de març i durarà cinc dies.

Els nostres alumnes de 2n de Batxillerat segueixen gaudint de la capital londinenca. Dissabte van visitar els estudis de la BBC, van anar al British Museum, van passejar per la Tower of London, Tower Bridge i van poder veure el Big Ben de ben a prop. Diumenge feien un tour per la Tate Modern, Millenium Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral,  The Globe Theatre i Buckingham Palace. Al vespre hi havia previst el Jack The Ripper Walking Tour, passejant pels carrers del East End que van aterrir a tanta gent durant més de 125 anys. Seguiu gaudint !more

Dins del Projecte "Londoners", 33 alumnes de 2n de Batxillerat estan visitant Londres. Van marxar dijous 17 de desembre i s'hi estaran fins dilluns 21. Ahir ja van fer la primera visita a l'institut "The Green School" a on els van preparar una sèrie d'activitats i els nostres alumnes van fer unes presentacions del nostre institut i del nostre país. L'experiència va ser del tot enriquidora. Després van visitar la National Gallery i van acabar el dia a Covent Garden. Avui visitaran la BBC i esperem que l'experiència sigui també positiva.

Divendres al vespre, a la biblioteca, vam fer un sopar de germanor per acomiadar l'alumnat i el professorat alemany que durant una setmana han estat allotjats a casa de diferents famílies del Pius. Cada família havia de portar un plat cuinat per, entre tots, acabar tenint un bufet per llepar-se'n els dits, com així va ser. Com a mostra de com es van esmerar els pares i mares a l'hora de cuinar, us reproduïm aquest pastís, que també serveix de record, amb el nom dels dos centres, Karl Friedrich Gymnasium i Pius Font i Quer. Tant les famílies com l'alumnat de Mannheim han estat molt contentsts d'haver compartit aquests dies. Moltes gràcies a tothom (nois, noies, mares, pares...) per la vostra col·laboració i acolliment.

Els dies 2, 3 i 4 d’abril els alumnes que estudien francès a l’institut conjuntament amb tres professores l’Eulàlia Ribas, la Marta Riera i la Maria Sánchez vam realitzar un viatge al Futuroscope (Poitiers, França). Durant el trajecte d’anada vam parar a Ax-les-Thermes i a Limoges on vam fer la visita del centre antic amb el barri de la Boucherie.

El proper dissabte 5 d’abril arribaran els 21 alumnes alemanys participants en l’intercanvi amb alumnat de 1r de batxillerat del centre. Els alumnes alemanys seran a Manresa fins dissabte 12 d’abril i assistiran a algunes classes amb les seves parelles catalanes.

Father Christmas is an old man with white hair, a beard and a moustache. He wears a red and white suit. He lives in the North Pole with his elves. On Christmas Eve Father Christmas rides across the sky with his reindeer on his sleigh. Rudolf is the reindeer with the red nose, and helps Father Christmas find the way to every child’s house. He goes into the houses at midnight, down the chimney and puts presents for children in stockings or in front of the Christmas tree.In class 1SB everyone made a Father Christmas to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season and enjoyed a different English lesson.
